You didn't ask for this and didn't have to do anything. The fee the token earns is yours. To receive it, all that's left is proving the account is really yours.

Why we ask for a code in your bio
Anyone can say they're you. A screenshot can be faked and an email can be written by anybody. Putting a code in your profile bio proves whoever is asking has the account's password, and it's the only thing we can verify on our own, without taking your word for it.
The code comes out of your bio as soon as verification is done. It gives no access to anything on your account and removes nothing from your profile.
